Our Story

Why Elm Fork?

The Elm Fork of the Trinity River flows 85 miles through North Texas, feeding Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Lewisville and following I-35 until it merges with the West Fork southwest of downtown Dallas to form the Trinity River. It has been a primary water source for much of the Dallas area.

The Tree

Jeremiah 17:7-8

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Psalms 1:3

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

Just like the Elm Fork has been a primary source of water and irrigation to the Dallas area, The Lord is our source for all things. We live our lives to serve and honor him. It is our goal to be like the tree spoken of in Jeremiah and Psalms, allowing our roots to feed on the streams of living water that come only from the God of the universe.
